Calculation Wizards are a set of 5 tools that allow you
to set up a problem more quickly and directly compared to
using the tableau alone.
Wizards allow you to:
- Manipulate the tableau by moving or inserting
chemical species to create desired chemical
conditions.
- Alter the log K values to reflect changes in pH, PCO2,
PO2 or pe.
- Move solids from the Dissolved Solids
category to Species Not Considered
individually or in bulk.
- Select calculation switches

Individually, the:
- pH Wizard (shown above)
allows you to specify a fixed pH calculation or
have MINEQL+ calculate the pH for you. The pH can
also be calculated using electroneutrality
constraints or total [H+]
- CO2 Wizard allows you to
have the system open or closed to atmospheric
inputs of CO2. The Wizard also allows
you to estimate the total amount of carbonate in
the system using pH and alkalinity.
- Totals Wizard allows you to
input the total molar concentrations of
individual chemical components. The benefit of
this Wizard is that it allows you to focus on
those components that require input of total
concentration values.
- Solids Mover Wizard allows
you to move solids from one category to another
individually or in bulk.
- Redox Wizard allows you to
set up oxidation-reduction problems faster and
helps ensure better problem stability.
